Franz Kenneth Stahl who was born n October 30, 1961 is an American guitarist.
Franz began performing in local Virginian bands with bassist Skeeter Thompson after learning to play the guitar.
He best known for his work with his brother Peter Stahl in the Washington, D.C. hardcore punk band Scream and the alternative rock band Foo Fighters.
Franz and Thompson, together with Peter and drummer Kent Stax and made history with the newly created Scream band in Alexandria in 1981.
He wrote the title music for the film One California Day in 2007.
Grohl asked Stahl to fill in for the Foo Fighters’ founding guitarist Pat Smear, who had decided to leave the band.
He went on to enjoy immense success making him one of the biggest guitarist in the world.
