It breaks my heart to learn of the death of Frank Williams, the actor from DAD’S ARMY. According to rumors, he died in his home in the early hours of today (June 26).

The nonagenarian, who played Reverend Timothy Farthing in the BBC television series Dad’s Army, died at the age of 90. Those close to him confirmed the tragic news in a Facebook post.

He was a stage and television actor who played Satan, Queen Boadicea, and, in a Guinness commercial, a man who gains the ability to walk through walls after drinking the Irish beverage; however, he is best known for his role as Reverend Timothy Farthing in Dad’s Army.
