Frank Williams was born on July 2, 1931, in London, England. He was an actor and writer, known for Dad’s Army (2016), Motive for Murder (1957), and, As Good Cooks Go (1969). He died on June 26, 2022, in England.

In 1953’s The Story of Gilbert and Sullivan, he made his debut as an uncredited extra. His most well-known performance was as the vicar in Dad’s Army. He played a bank employee in the ephemeral television sitcom High & Dry (1987). In You Rang, M’Lord? a later series created by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, he played a recurrent part. He subsequently spent much of his later childhood at a private boarding school, St Joseph’s College, Dumfries, Scotland. In the late 1950s, a friend gave Williams a ride in his Jaguar XK150, which immediately served to catalyze his interest in fast cars.
