Hours after the murder of Mr Eric Johnson, owner of the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel in the Upper West Region, went viral on social media, JoyNews obtained exclusive information from family members and facility workers.
While available information indicated that Mr Johnson, the owner of the facility known as Jirapa Dubai, was murdered in one of the hotel’s rooms, JoyNews can confirm that the deceased was discovered dead in his private residence, which shares a boundary with the hotel.
According to sources, the murder occurred before 1:30 a.m., as his stolen vehicle was driven out of his home by the assailant(s) around that time.
It is confirmed that the person who attacked Mr. Johnson climbed over his wall with a ladder and then entered his room with a master card.
It’s also thought that Mr. Johnson had completed his bath prior to the attack. He was discovered on the floor, wrapped in his towel, with deep wounds on his body that appeared to have been caused by his murderer.
After that, someone stole his car key and drove his own vehicle out of the compound. But the vehicle was discovered abandoned in the town.
More information was provided by JoyNews’ Rafiq Salam, who discovered that after the car’s “driver” pulled up to the entrance and honked, security staff at the home unlocked the gate for him. The security guard allegedly thought Mr. Johnson was the one leaving the building by car.
To help with the investigation, one person has been placed under arrest by the police in the interim. The deceased’s body has also been placed in the morgue at Upper West Regional Hospital.
