Richard Nyamah, who previously contested and lost in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries earlier this year, has delivered on his pledge to provide water to nine communities in the Kpandai constituency.

The beneficiary communities include Lonto, Loloto, Jirandogo, Jamboai, Kabeso, Kakpeni, Nkanchina College of Health, Mbowura, and Kachinke. This initiative has come as a surprise to many, considering Mr Nyamah’s defeat in the primaries, which had raised doubts about his dedication to the constituency’s development.

Despite his loss, Mr Nyamah has demonstrated his commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the residents in the Kpandai District. His promise to provide water during his campaign was initially met with skepticism by some, but he has proven his sincerity by following through on his commitment.

Access to clean water is a fundamental necessity that has been lacking in these communities, impacting the health, well-being, and socio-economic progress of the residents. Students at the Nkanchina College of Health recounted the challenges they faced in accessing water, highlighting the significance of this water provision initiative.

The students praised Mr Nyamah for fulfilling his pledge and thanked the Ghana Gas Company and the PURC for their support. This act of integrity and responsibility has earned Mr Nyamah commendation from various quarters, showcasing his dedication to serving the people regardless of his electoral fate.

During the inauguration of the water projects, Mr Nyamah emphasized the importance of politicians being accountable to the people and working towards meaningful societal change. He urged community members to take ownership of the projects and ensure their sustainability.

To ensure the longevity of the water systems, a five-member committee was inaugurated in each community to manage the water supply.
