Former Kotoko player Osei Kwame Junior slams players over poor Ghana Premier League performance

Former Asante Kotoko left-back Osei Kwame Junior has criticized the current players for their poor performance in the Ghana Premier League. The Porcupine Warriors, who are currently ranked 11th in the standings with 33 points, have been struggling in the top-flight league.

In their last seven games, Kotoko has suffered six defeats and only managed to pick up one point during that period. This decline in form has seen the once title contenders now fighting for survival in the league.

Osei Kwame Junior spoke out about the situation, highlighting the players’ responsibilities in the team’s poor performance. He emphasized the need for the players to step up and show seriousness when representing a prestigious club like Kotoko.

“Many players have made history with Kotoko before, and it’s now their turn to leave a legacy. They need to ask themselves what they are contributing to the club and whether they can consider themselves as legends. Playing for Kotoko is a privilege, and they should treat it as such,” Osei Kwame Junior stated.

He also pointed out that blaming the coach alone for the team’s setbacks is unfair, as the players themselves need to take responsibility for their performances on the field. Osei Kwame Junior called on the players to show more commitment and respect for the club’s tradition and history.

As Kotoko prepares to face league leaders Samartex and defending champions Medeama SC, the pressure is on the players to turn things around and prove their worth on the pitch. The upcoming matches will be crucial for the team as they strive to climb up the league standings and regain their winning form.
