The Accra High Court has issued a one-week ultimatum for Yahuza Osumanu’s lawyer to respond to documents opposing the bail application for the accused person.
Osumanu, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery and money laundering, was remanded into police custody after allegedly robbing and assaulting former Second Lady Matilda Amissah Arthur on April 16.
During the court session on Thursday, lead counsel Paul Asibi Abariga requested more time to review the prosecution’s documents before presenting their arguments for bail. Abariga explained to Justice Lydia Osei Marfo that they needed additional time to assess the prosecution’s filings and prepare a response.
The case has been adjourned to May 13 to allow the defense team to examine the documents provided by the prosecution, while the prosecution may submit any additional evidence to support their case.
