FIFA President Gianni Infantino has shown his support for Zambia’s national women’s football team, the Copper Queens, as they gear up for the upcoming Paris Olympics despite political turmoil within the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).

The Copper Queens recently secured their spot in the Olympics by defeating Morocco 3-2 on aggregate, but they are currently facing conflicts with stakeholders in their home country.

The FAZ is at risk of being suspended due to political interference, but Infantino remains hopeful for Zambia’s success in Paris.

Taking to social media, Infantino wished all qualified teams, including Zambia, the best of luck for the upcoming Olympics. He urged the Copper Queens to make history once again and create more unforgettable moments on the world stage.

Infantino referenced Zambia’s achievement of scoring the 1,000th goal in FIFA Women’s World Cup history at the previous edition, showing his confidence in the team’s abilities.

The Copper Queens are set to compete in Group B against tough opponents such as Germany, the United States, and Australia in the highly anticipated tournament.

As Zambia prepares to make their mark in Paris, Infantino’s message of encouragement serves as a reminder of the team’s potential to inspire the world with their talent and determination.

Fans across the globe will be eagerly watching to see how the Copper Queens perform on the Olympic stage.
