A fetish priest named Afealete Dzreke, who is thought to be in his 50s, is accused of shooting and killing his son at Dzuefe-Hamekpoe, a farming hamlet in the Volta Region’s Akatsi South Municipality.

Lawson Agbenyega Dzreke, a 34-year-old man, was allegedly slain by his father, identified as “Hunor Akpatogui,” and buried in a nearby bush following the crime.

The area’s assembly member, Mr. Selorm Bright Gligui, informed the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that following the alarm raised about the discovery of the buried body, the entire community was still in shock.

The body was discovered on Sunday, February 4, and was reported to the Akatsi police. The subject is in detention for additional interrogation.

The GNA was informed by a few witnesses that the deceased individual and the suspect got into a fight on Thursday, February 1.

Chief Superintendent Isaac Baah, the head of police, confirmed the occurrence but promised to provide more information later.

On Monday, February 5, the police properly excavated the deceased person’s body. The deceased had three children and was married.
