Ferran Torres Garca (born February 29, 2000) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays forward for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spanish national team. Torres began his career at Valencia, where he debuted as a senior in 2017. In the 2020-21 season, he joined Manchester City and won the Premier League and the EFL Cup. In January 2022, he left for Barcelona. He has represented Spain at various youth levels and will make his senior team debut in 2020.

Torres, who was born in Foios, Valencian Community, joined Valencia CF’s youth setup in 2006 when he was six years old.  While still a junior, he made his senior debut with the reserve team on 15 October 2016, coming on as a substitute for Grego in a 2-0 Segunda División B home loss to Mallorca B. Torres was promoted to the B-side ahead of the 2017-18 season and scored his first senior goal on August 26, 2017, in a 4-1 home win over Peralada-Girona B. After being strongly linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid, he renewed his contract on October 5, increasing his release clause to €25 million. On January 1, 2018, he was also promoted to the first team. Torres made his first team debut on November 30, 2017, replacing fellow youth graduate Nacho Gil in a 4-1 home win over Real Zaragoza in the Copa del Rey that season. On December 16, he made his La Liga debut, playing the final nine minutes of a 1-2 loss at Eibar, becoming the league’s first player born in the 2000s. Torres made his European and Champions League debuts against Young Boys on October 23, 2018. On January 19, 2019, he scored his first La Liga goal in a 2-1 victory over Celta Vigo, ten minutes after being substituted in. On May 25, at the Estadio Benito Villamarn in Seville, he watched Valencia defeat Barcelona 2-1 in the 2019 Copa del Rey Final.

Torres became Valencia’s youngest goalscorer in the Champions League on November 5, 2019, when he scored his team’s final goal in a 4-1 victory over Lille at home. It was his first Champions League goal. At the age of 19 years and 254 days, Torres broke Miguel Tendillo’s record of 38 years by playing in his 50th La Liga game on November 23 against Real Betis. Torres became the youngest Los Ches player to play 50 league games (19 years old and 351 days). Torres signed a five-year contract with Manchester City until 2025 on August 4, 2020, for a reported transfer fee of €23 million (£20.8 million). Later, the club revealed that Torres had inherited shirt number 21 previously worn by club legend David Silva, a fellow Spaniard who had also arrived from Valencia. Torres made his Premier League debut in City’s first game of the season, coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 away win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Torres scored his first goal for the club in a 3-0 away win over Burnley in the EFL Cup on September 30.

He made his Champions League debut for Manchester City on October 21, 2020, scoring a goal in a 3-1 win over Porto. Torres started and scored again in the Champions League a week later in a 0-3 win over Olympique de Marseille, becoming the youngest Spanish player ever to score in three consecutive appearances in the competition at 20 years and 241 days. Torres scored his first league goal for City in a 5-0 home win over Burnley on November 28. Torres scored his first hat-trick for City in a 4-3 away league win over Newcastle United on May 14. Torres agreed to a transfer to Barcelona for €55 million (plus conditional add-ons worth €10 million) in December 2021, with the transfer to be completed the following month depending on Barça selling players from their squad.

Torres completed a permanent move to Barcelona on December 28, 2021, signing a five-year contract with a €1 billion buyout clause. Torres scored his first goal for Barcelona in the Copa del Rey round of 16 on January 20, 2022, in a 3-2 loss to Athletic Bilbao at the end of extra time. On March 20, 2022, he scored a goal and assisted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in his first El Clásico, helping Barcelona to a 4-0 away victory over the league leaders.
