In a strange and extravagant quest to defy the aging process, Bryan Johnson, a wealthy software developer, has enlisted the help of his 17-year-old son, Talmage, to serve as his personal “blood boy.”

According to Bloomberg, Johnson and his son recently attended a clinic near Dallas for a tri-generational blood-swapping treatment.

While Johnson typically receives plasma from an anonymous donor, this time Talmage provided a liter of his own blood, which was then transformed into separate components – liquid plasma, red and white blood cells, and platelets.Screen Shot 2023 05 22 at 13445 PM 2

After draining his own blood, Johnson received his son’s plasma intravenously, in addition to undergoing the usual procedure himself. Finally, Johnson’s 70-year-old father, Richard, underwent the same treatment, completing the generational blood exchange.

He meticulously screens potential donors, seeking individuals with ideal body mass indexes, healthy lifestyles, and no signs of disease, to ensure the quality of the blood he receives.

Although the concept of using plasma as an anti-aging technique gained attention when studies on mice showed potential benefits, its efficacy in humans remains uncertain and largely unproven.

Many researchers view plasma-swapping techniques for longevity as inconclusive and even potentially dangerous.

Johnson, who made his fortune from a business venture in his early thirties, has become a well-known figure in the pursuit of eternal youth. Johnson claims that his expensive treatments have already improved his physiological age, boasting the heart of a 37-year-old and the skin of a 28-year-old.

His anti-aging initiative, Project Blueprint, aims to measure and reverse the biological age of each of his 70 organs.

Johnson’s fascination with longevity also led him to found Kernel, a company that produces brain signal measuring helmets for studying the impact of meditation and pharmaceutical interventions on chronic pain.

While Johnson’s quest for eternal youth may seem peculiar and controversial to some, it stands as a testament to the lengths some individuals will go to defy the inevitable march of time.

Whether Johnson’s extreme measures will truly turn back the clock remains to be seen, but his unyielding determination serves as a bizarre reminder of humanity’s eternal fascination with youth and immortality.
