Father of late Aburi Girls student makes shocking revelation

The father of an Aburi Girls Senior High School (SHS) first year  girl who passed away after reporting stomach symptoms, Kingsley Okyere, has stated that administration cannot be freed from responsibility for the regrettable event.

According to Mr. Okyere, his 16-year-old daughter Stacy, who was medically free, died as a result of the school’s alleged carelessness.

He states that his daughter reported sick at 12 p.m. based on his checks. Regretfully, the family was kept in the dark about it until evening.

“My child died at the school.” The housekeeper for my daughter called me at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4. She was ill and wanted me to come get my daughter so she could go to the hospital.

“I chose to go even though I thought it was too late. She called approximately every two minutes while I was on my way. He explained in an interview with TV3 in Accra, “I was even furious because I expected her to at least send my daughter to the hospital before calling me.”

After racing to the school, the upset parent reported he encountered an awkward and startling circumstance.

According to reports, Stacy, who was at Edinburgh House, only recently had her admission to the school completed.

Five days after media reports that the body is in police custody awaiting an autopsy, the school administration has still not commented on the tragedy.

To provide closure, advocacy group Africa Education Watch (Eduwatch) is requesting a statement from the Ghana Education Service (GES) regarding the issue.
