In a shocking incident that unfolded on August 13, 2023, a promising under-13 soccer player named Alhassan Abdul-Rauf of Soccer Heroes FC, Bole, was brutally beaten by his own father during a league game.

Per our findings, witnesses recount that as the Bole Soccer Heroes FC faced off against Bole Peace FC at Kurabaso Park, Abdul-Rauf’s father demanded his son to quit playing and focus on traditional studies (‘Mankaranta’).

When the young athlete complied, his father’s response was far from expected – a series of slaps, blows, and aggressive actions that left the young player unconscious.

Despite the presence of onlookers, including elders and local Chiefs, the father persisted in his violent attack, insisting that it was his prerogative to discipline his child.

Abdul-Rauf’s ordeal only ended when concerned individuals rushed to his aid and got him to a hospital.

After recovering consciousness at Bole District Hospital, 13-year-old told the press he had a dream of representing Ghana when he becomes a professional player.
