A shocking incident that unfolded in Breman Nkonya near Breman Asikuma, Central Region, has left residents dumbfounded.
A 38-year-old farmer identified as Otwea Amokua shot his 45-year-old girlfriend, Nkumah, following a heated argument over housekeeping money, “chop money.”
The violent altercation took place on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, leaving the victim critically injured. According to eyewitnesses, the couple frequently clashed whenever Nkumah complained about the insufficient amount of her ‘chop money.’
The tension escalated when Amokua purchased a new double-barrel gun on Monday, May 15, 2023, openly expressing his intentions to kill his girlfriend and six other tenants who had also supported his girlfriend’s request.
Terrifyingly, on Tuesday evening, Amokua stormed Nkumah’s residence and fired a single shot, leaving her in a pool of blood.
The assailant quickly fled the scene, evading immediate capture. The injured victim was initially rushed to the Our Lady Of Grace Government Hospital in Breman Asikuma, but due to her critical condition, she was subsequently transferred to the renowned Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for urgent medical care.
The Police were promptly notified, and they managed to recover the firearm and bullets used in the heinous act.
PresentlyThe Breman Asikuma Police have launched an intensive manhunt for the fugitive suspect, Amokua, who is currently on the run.
