Fake military officer arrested by Nkwanta South Police

The Nkwanta South Municipal Police Command has apprehended a 27-year-old man identified as Abdul Majeed for masquerading as a military officer in the area.

The suspect was caught after he posed as a soldier at a local chop bar in town and hired a commercial motorbike rider for a few hours.

Upon reaching his destination, the fake military officer refused to pay the rider and instead used his fake identity to intimidate him, leading to a physical altercation between the two.

Subsequent investigations by military officers in the area revealed that the suspect had no affiliation with the Ghana Armed Forces and had been using his false identity to gain respect and authority in the community.

As a result, the imposter was subjected to some military drills for deceiving the public. Abdul Majeed has since been handed over to the Police for further investigation and prosecution. He is currently facing charges of impersonation and fraud.
