Bagnis made his ATP World Tour debut on January 31, 2011, at the 2011 Movistar Open, losing in three sets against Santiago Giraldo[3], and he won his first tour-level match at the 2012 Copa Claro, defeating Leonardo Mayer.
Bagnis won his largest victory (and first at the Grand Slam level) in the 2014 French Open first round, defeating Julien Benneteau 18–16 in the final set.
Bagnis reached his first ATP semifinal at the Córdoba Open in 2021, losing in three sets to Albert Ramos Violas, the fifth seed. He would go even farther two weeks later at the Chile Open, reaching his first ATP final, where he lost to Rafael Nadal.
