A new political party, the People’s National Party (PNP), has been formed by members of the National Executive Committee who have resigned from the People’s National Convention (PNC).
This decision was made in response to a High Court ruling on April 8, which reinstated individuals that the former members believe were rightfully dismissed due to financial malfeasance and misconduct.
Sulemana Seidu, the Interim General Secretary of the PNP, expressed during a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday, April 17, that the party could not function under a leader lacking integrity and credibility. He emphasized the importance of upholding the values of honesty, integrity, and transparency as they approach the upcoming elections in 2024.
The new party unveiled its interim executives, with Janet Nabla appointed as the party’s National Chairman. The other positions include Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Deputy Secretary, National Organiser, Deputy Organiser, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, National Women’s Organiser, Deputy Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, Deputy Youth Organiser, and Communication Secretary.
Mr. Seidu called for the support of Ghanaians as they embark on this new journey, promising to uphold the legacy of integrity and honesty set forth by Dr. Hilla Limann, the founder of the PNC.
