Fabian Lukas Schär is a Swiss footballer who now plays for Premier League club Newcastle United as well as the Switzerland national team.
Schär began his career at Wil before moving to Basel in 2012, where he won the Swiss Super League in all three seasons before joining Hoffenheim. After competing in the Olympics in 2012, he made his senior debut for Switzerland in 2013. Schär represented his country in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups, as well as the 2016 and 2020 UEFA Euros.
