Dune: Part Two release date and cast

The highly-anticipated sequel to the hit sci-fi film Dune, titled Dune: Part Two, was released in theaters on March 1, 2024.

Originally scheduled for a November 2023 release, the film was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes. Fans can now watch the sequel in theaters or stream it for a fee on various platforms starting on April 16, 2024.

Filming for Dune: Part Two took place in various locations including Budapest, Jordan, Abu Dhabi, and Italy. The movie has a total runtime of 165 minutes, slightly longer than its predecessor. Since its release, the film has already made $81.5 million at the US box office during its opening weekend.

The star-studded cast of Dune: Part Two includes returning actors Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, as well as new additions such as Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and Rebecca Ferguson. Director Denis Villeneuve has promised fans that Zendaya’s character will have a more prominent role in the sequel, following her limited screen time in the first film.

Based on the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, Dune: Part Two picks up where the first film left off, focusing on the second half of the original book. Director Denis Villeneuve has described the sequel as a “war movie” with a strong emphasis on the romance between the characters played by Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.
