Popular Canadian businessman, philanthropist, and owner, governor, Eugene Melnyk, has died at the age of 62. He died on March 28th, 2022.
Eugene Melnyk was also known as the chairman of the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators and AHL’s Belleville Senators.
Eugene Melnyk died after battling an illness that is not specified but died peacefully with his family around him.
Meanwhile, Eugene Melnyk received a liver transplant in 2015 that he had termed life-saving.
According to a statement from the team, Melnyk died “after an illness he faced with determination and courage.”
Eugene Melnyk was born on May 27, 1959, in Toronto, Canada. He is the son of Ferdinand Melnyk and Vera Melnyk.
Eugene Melnyk is survived by two beautiful daughters; Olivia Melnyk and Anna Melnyk. He was not married but was in a relationship with Sharilyne Anderson.
