Manchester United fell 4-0 away at Brentford, giving up all four goals in the first half of the game, following a 2-1 defeat to Brighton in their opening game.
Brentford played well, and United’s defensive miscues along with the Bees’ lackadaisical attacking led to the Bees’ first Premier League victory over the Red Devils.
This was even worse than what the new Manchester United manager felt against Brighton in last weekend’s game.
After only 30 minutes had passed, Brentford had a 4-0 lead and proceeded to play hardball with Ten Hag’s group for the remainder of the match.
Before the transfer window closes, he needs new players desperately, but maybe more importantly, he needs to see some effort from the guys he inherited.
United is currently in last place in the Premier League after two games, two losses, and a goal differential of minus five, and things aren’t going to get much better for Ten Hag.
Interestingly on August 22, he will play Liverpool at Old Trafford, which is another mountain to climb.
