In a new criminal case that was announced on Wednesday, Eric Weinberg, the co-producer and writer of the television show Scrubs, is accused of sexually abusing five women while they were posing for photographs at various times between 2014 and 2019.
Weinberg, 62, had been the subject of an inquiry for a number of years prior to his arrest on Tuesday; nevertheless, he is free after posting a bond in the amount of $5 million. According to Gascón, his office requested that Weinberg be held in jail without the possibility of bail, but the judge declined.
Prosecutors and police have issued an open invitation to anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Weinberg to get in touch with them. Los Angeles police Detective-Supervisor Ryan Lamar has described the probe as “ongoing, delicate, and confidential.”
