Eric Weinberg, a prominent television producer, and writer who worked on Scrubs and Californication, was arrested and charged with 18 charges of rape, sexual assault, and false imprisonment by violence.
In July, the 61-year-old was detained at his Los Angeles residence and freed on $3.2 million bail. He was detained again on Tuesday and eventually freed on a $5 million bail.
“The defendant used his Hollywood connections to entice young ladies for picture assignments where he allegedly sexually abused them,” stated Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón at a press conference on Wednesday. “Power and influence may corrupt some, causing them to harm others, which typically results in a lifetime of pain for those who are victimized.”

Eric’s familial background is unknown. Weinberg’s wife Hilary Bidwell filed for divorce in 2020 after discovering a handwritten diary of women’s names, habits, and areas where they might be located inside Weinberg’s golf bag.
