In 2011, Eric Greitens married Sheena Elise Chestnut. She is an associate professor in the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.
She was born to a doctor’s father and an oncologist mother and was raised in Spokane, Washington. She attended Stanford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Later, she earned a Master of Philosophy from St Antony’s College, Oxford as a Marshall Scholar, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
The pair had two sons together before announcing their divorce on April 11, 2020. Two years later, in 2022, they were involved in a custody case.
During the case, Sheena accused him of physical abuse and that he cuffed their then-3-year-old son across the face at the dinner table.
