Eric Jeremy Edgar Dier, an English professional football player who competes for both the England national team and the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, was born on January 15, 1994. Dier is a versatile defender who has played right back, center back, and defensive midfielder.
Dier was born and raised in Portugal, where he progressed through Sporting CP’s junior system before making his reserve and senior debuts in 2012 following a loan to Everton. He signed a five-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur in 2014 for a price of £4 million. With Tottenham, he has played in more than 200 games, including the 2015 Football League Cup Final and the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final. Dier chose to play for England in international football despite interest from Portugal.
