IT For Youth Ghana College is making waves in the education sector by offering free Information Technology (IT) training and empowerment programs to disadvantaged youth in Ghana.

The college, established as a non-profit organization, is on a mission to equip the youth with essential skills for the digital age.

The project emphasizes inclusivity by providing 100% scholarships to girls, SHS and JHS graduates, and youth facing financial difficulties or disabilities. University students and unemployed youth are also welcomed into the program, ensuring that no one is left behind.

After six months of intensive training, participants undergo a two-month industrial attachment to gain real-world experience and enhance their professional development. The college also offers AI and various other IT solutions and training tailored for corporate institutions, further expanding its impact on the community.

The first cohort of students recently graduated, showcasing their expertise in IT disciplines such as graphic designing, coding, and website design. The majority of the graduates were young women, highlighting the college’s commitment to gender equality in IT education.

As the college prepares for its second intake, applications are open to all youth, with a focus on marginalized groups such as girls, individuals with disabilities, and those facing financial constraints. The college welcomes support from individuals, businesses, and agencies through donations of computers, laptops, or financial contributions to cover administrative expenses and expand its reach.

“We are on a mission to transform the lives of Ghanaian youth through IT education,” stated a spokesperson for IT For Youth Ghana College. The college aims to reach out to marginalized youth in the streets and ghettos, offering them the opportunity to acquire valuable IT skills and secure a brighter future.
