Emilian Kaminski, a renowned actor, and director from Poland passed away on Monday at the age of 70, according to the nation’s PAP news agency.
According to a statement by Patrycja Pawlik, spokeswoman for the Kamienica Theater that Kaminski had founded, he passed away at 7:30 on Monday after a protracted and serious illness.
The Kamienica Theater sent a statement on social media that read, “Words fail to explain the anguish and loss left in our hearts.”
By Monday, cultural minister Piotr Glinski said on Twitter that “outstanding performer Emilian Kaminski, the director and creator of the Kamienica Theatre, has gone away.”
Three days prior to his passing, Kaminski received the Gloria Artis Gold Medal from Gliski.
The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage bestows the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis, a departmental decoration of Poland in the arts, on individuals and groups for outstanding contributions to, or protection of, Polish culture and national heritage.
On Monday, Mateusz Morawiecki, the prime minister, said goodbye to Kaminski on Facebook.
He founded the Kamienica Theater in Warsaw in 2009.
