
Elspeth Howe was a British Baroness, passed away on March 22, 2022.
According to her relatives, Howe died in a Warwickshire nursing home.
In her latter years, she was a widow. Her spouse, the late Lord Geoffrey Howe of Aberavon was a Baron himself.
Caroline (Cary), Amanda, and Alec Howe were born to Howe and her husband in 1953.
She was deputy chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission from 1975 to 1979 before becoming head of the Broadcasting Standards Commission.
Howe was reported to be a vivacious person, and as a result, everyone loved being around her.
Her feud with Baroness Thatcher caught the eye of Conservative grandee John Biffen who apparently compared the two ladies to wasps in a jam jar.
She died at the age of 90 after a battle with cancer
