Elon Musk, the entrepreneur behind SpaceX and Tesla, has made a unique proposal to Wikipedia.
Musk offered a billion dollars to Wikipedia in exchange for a name change to “Dickipedia.” He humorously stated that this would be “in the interests of accuracy.
” In response to X (formerly Twitter) users who supported the idea, Musk mentioned a minimum one-year duration for the name change, emphasizing that he’s not a fool.
Musk also questioned why the Wikimedia Foundation, which operates Wikipedia, requests substantial funding from its readers.
He argued that such a significant budget isn’t necessary to maintain Wikipedia, as its entire text can fit on a smartphone. He posed the question, “So, what’s the money for?”
This unusual proposal follows previous exchanges between Musk and Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales.
Musk’s quirky and sometimes unconventional behavior on social media platforms has become well-known, and he’s previously issued challenges and taunts to various individuals, including Mark Zuckerberg.
