Elon Musk stated on Sunday that as he makes significant improvements to the microblogging network he recently acquired, Twitter, he is focusing on addressing search and creator monetization.

He claimed Twitter could outperform rival platforms’ offers to pay content creators a portion of ad earnings. This is how it works across many platforms.

Additionally, Twitter has revealed that users will soon be able to add long-form text to their tweets.

The contentious new paid membership system for Twitter, which the social network’s unpredictable new owner ordered staff to construct after taking over last week, started to be implemented on Saturday.

The new version of Twitter Blue, which Musk has stated will cost $8 per month and will give users a blue checkmark and benefits like fewer ads in their feeds, is now available for download through the platform’s mobile app.

Twitter stated on its Apple App store page, “Get Twitter Blue for $7.99/month if you sign up now Blue checkmark: Power to the people: Your account will get a blue checkmark, just like the celebrities, companies, and politicians you already follow.”

Esther Crawford, a product manager at a microblogging website, claimed that the new blue “isn’t live yet” shortly after the news went viral.

Since he revealed he will charge $20/month for the Twitter blue tick, he has drawn criticism on Twitter for his decision.

Musk made some significant changes to Twitter’s organizational structure after finalizing his company acquisition late last month.

The most recent instance is the wave of mass dismissals that began on Friday and which a number of Twitter employees experienced as a reality. Around 180 individuals were let go by Musk in India, among other nations and departments.
