On Thursday morning, Clemson defensive lineman Bryan Bresee made the announcement that his 15-year-old sister Ella had passed away following a fight with brain cancer.

In honor of Ella, the Tigers wore unique shirts for their Sept. 10 home opener versus Furman. Bresee’s jersey number 11, “E11A Strong,” was written on the shirts.
Ella had originally planned to go to that game and be an honorary team captain, but she was eventually unable to go due to a medical emergency. Bresee departed town to be with his family following the team’s 35-12 triumph, during which he had two tackles and a quarterback hurry.
The defensive lineman might not be available to play on Saturday when Clemson meets the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, according to head coach Dabo Swinney after practice on Wednesday.
Bresee was nominated earlier this week for the Orange Bowl Courage Award, which is awarded each year to someone who exemplifies courage on or off the field.
