Elizabeth Olsen was born in 1989 in Sherman Oaks, California, and was raised in the entertainment world. She is Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen’s younger sister. She began acting in her sisters’ movies as a young child. She started building her own film career when she was in her 20s by appearing in films like Quiet House and Peace, Love & Misunderstanding (both in 2011).
The same year, Olsen’s career changed forever when she gave a much-praised performance in the movie Martha Marcy May Marlene. Since then, she has appeared in a number of other dramas, such as Murder Your Darlings (2013), as well as the critically acclaimed blockbusters Godzilla (2014) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).
Elizabeth Olsen has already been in several movies by the time she earned her Tisch degree in 2011. The next year, she co-starred with Dakota Fanning in the drama Very Good Girls, and she also acted with Daniel Radcliffe in Kill Your Darlings. Moreover, she played Thérèse Raquin, an Emile Zola figure, in the historical drama In Secret and the suspenseful thriller Old Boy.
