The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission has announced to its stakeholders and the general public that electricity tariffs shall remain the same until the end of the second quarter of 2019 (June 30 2019).
In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs Mami Dufir Ofori, PURC has explained that its decision not to change tariffs until 2019 is due to critical emerging issues in the sector which are expected to affect the final tariff setting. Further, reductions in the price of natural gas are anticipated due to ongoing negotiations by government.
