The Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC) has officially endorsed John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the leader of the Movement for Change (M4C), as its presidential candidate for the upcoming December 7 general elections.
This announcement was made by Yaw Buaben Asamoa, a prominent member of the Movement for Change, during an interview on Accra-based Citi-FM.
The ARC aims to bring together various major political groups, organizations, and individuals to collaborate closely in preparation for the 2024 general elections. The official launch of the alliance took place in Accra on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Despite being endorsed as the presidential candidate by the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, Mr. Kyerematen will campaign in his capacity as the founder and leader of the Movement for Change. According to Mr. Asamoa, “The Alliance has endorsed Mr. Alan Kyerematen as the presidential candidate. The ARC is a grouping and it is still open for many others to join…Nobody is losing their core identities, however, they all subscribe to the ideals of the ARC…Mr Kyerematen will be the candidate of the alliance but would campaign as the leader and founder for M4C.”
Mr. Asamoa emphasized that the alliance is inclusive and welcomes individuals interested in moving beyond the two-party system dominated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He assured that political entities, movements, and individuals who join the alliance will still retain their unique identities.
The endorsement of John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen as the presidential candidate signifies a significant step for the Alliance for Revolutionary Change as they prepare for the upcoming general elections.
