NPP members in Ejisu have been urged not to rest until their candidate, Kwabena Boateng, is elected as the MP for the area in the upcoming by-election. Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), a former Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the NPP, emphasized the need for unity and hard work during a recent unity walk in Ejisu.
He stressed the importance of staying united and avoiding complacency to secure victory for their candidate. Calling on all members to engage in a door-to-door campaign to spread the message of the NPP, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah emphasized the significance of Tuesday’s by-election for the party’s parliamentary business.
He urged all members to come together, pool their resources, and campaign vigorously to ensure a decisive win for Lawyer Boateng, the NPP’s Second Vice Chairman in Ejisu. Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah warned against careless remarks that could potentially harm the party’s chances in the election.
The by-election was triggered by the sudden passing of the NPP MP for Ejisu, John Kumah, who was also a Deputy Finance Minister. In the recent polls, Lawyer Boateng secured a significant 394 votes out of the 1,033 total valid votes cast, emerging as the winner. He was followed by Helena Mensah with 302 votes and Yaa Akyawmaa Aboagye with 229 votes in third place.
Notably, Dr. Evans Duah and former GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, who were favored to win, received 63 and 35 votes respectively. Other candidates had varying numbers of votes, with Abena Pokuaa Amoah-Boaitey receiving no votes.
