The operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, the 12th of February, 2024, has however, arrested four suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City.
Meanwhile, it was also noted that the said suspects were arrested on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at different locations in Benin City, Edo State, following tortious intelligence on their suspected nefarious goings-on.
In addition, they happened to have been identified as Oniovosa Destiny, Enoferodion Kingsley, Elvis Mohammed, and Igneweka Endurance.
Following the details, it was well known that four exotic cars—the Mercedes-Benz GLE 43 AMG, two Mercedes-Benz GLE 250 AMG, and the Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 4Matic—and also phones were recovered from the suspects.
Notably, the suspects, according to the EFCC, will be charged in court as soon as inquiries are clinched. Meanwhile, the EFCC advises the public to be extra vigilant in transaction business with users or unknown personalities online without prior or furtherance. Adding to the aforementioned, no person shall send money online when they are not sure of the receiver’s credentials as needed.
