To improve the quality of education in the nation, the Ministry of Education launched the Community of Excellence Programme (CEP) in partnership with stakeholders.

The goal of the program, which was introduced by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, is to create a strong statewide network of highly literate communities in order to guarantee that no kid is left behind and that every individual is prepared to make a significant contribution to the socioeconomic development of the nation.

Speaking during the launch on Friday, February 9 in Mamfe, in the Akuapem South District, Dr. Adutwum urged government officials, chiefs, educators, and other attendees to actively participate in their children’s education.

He emphasized that by giving teachers and other education professionals adjustments and support, chiefs would be essential to improving learning outcomes under the CEP framework.

Dr. Adutwum emphasized the organization’s dedication to putting into practice sensible policies that might spur the nation’s educational progress.

He outlined the goals of the program, saying that the CEP aims to guarantee that 90% of basic four students, or those who are ten years old, acquire the fundamental skills of reading, numeracy, and socioemotional growth.

“About 87% of children in developing countries cannot read. We want to make sure that every child will read in Ghana by Primary Four. So we have begun the process of supporting teachers and bringing in literacy coaches. The goal of this project is to ensure that 90% of our children by primary four will be able to read,” he said.
