Ghanaian rising star, Edmund Baidoo, once again showcased his talent on Tuesday evening as he scored for Sogndal in their 2-1 defeat to IK Start in the Norway 1st Division.
The match, held at the Sparebanken Sør Arena, saw Sogndal dominating possession but struggling to convert their chances. On the other hand, IK Start proved to be more clinical in front of goal.
Before the clash, IK Start held the advantage in head-to-head record with 8 wins, while Sogndal had 4 wins and 6 draws. Baidoo started the game and made an impact by scoring the opening goal in the 26th minute. It was a stunning finish from the right winger outside the 16-metre area, giving Sogndal a 1-0 lead.
However, IK Start fought back and managed to equalize just before half-time. Despite Sogndal’s efforts, IK Start’s Tom Strannegård scored the winning goal in the 8th minute of added time, securing the 2-1 victory.
Baidoo, who has now made ten appearances in the Norway 1st Division this season, has been in fine form with four goals and one assist to his name. Ghanaian fans will surely be keeping a close eye on the talented youngster as he continues to impress in Norway.
