Deputy Los Angeles County Coroner, Ed Winter, was handling celebrity death investigations, including the cases of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.
In case you don’t know, a coroner is a government or judicial official with the authority to conduct or order an inquest into the cause of death and to analyze or confirm the identity of an anonymous individual discovered dead within the coroner’s jurisdiction.

Ed Winter passed away at the age of 73. According to TMZ, Winter died of natural causes at his Los Angeles home on Friday, law enforcement sources told TMZ, but the actual death cause was not shared at the time of this post.
This is some of Winter’s high-profile cases included the deaths of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Brittany Murphy, Paul Walker, Tom Petty, and Corey Haim. Michael Jackson died from a lethal combination of sedative prescription drugs in June 2009. Winter was immediately concerned after seeing injection points in Jackson’s body, the outlet reports.
The coroner later said that Jackson had enough Propofol in him “to put down a rhinoceros or an elephant. Dr. Conard Murray, who would have been the one to sign Jackson’s death certificate, “fled” the hospital after the star was pronounced dead, Winter said.
