Actor and director Edward Allen Harris was born in the United States on November 28, 1950.  Harris is married to Amy Madigan.

(2017), The Lost Daughter (2021), and Top Gun: Maverick are some of the leading and supporting roles Harris (2022). Harris also directed the Western picture Appaloosa in addition to Pollock (2008).

Harris is well-known for his work on television, including Miles Roby in the miniseries Empire Falls (2005) and US Senator John McCain in the television film Game Change (2012), the latter of which won him the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries, or Television Film. For his role as the Man in Black in the HBO science fiction Western series Westworld (2016–2022), for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, he presently stars.
