Rupert Edmund Holovchik, better known by his stage name Ed Fury, was an American bodybuilder, actor, and model.
He died on February 24, 2023. He became well-known for his roles in several “sword-and-sandal” movies in the 1950s and 1960s. Early in the 1970s, Fury made a comeback as an actor and largely made cameos in TV shows.
As part of the Labor Day events that year, the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks honoured Fury on September 3, 2001, at Venice Beach. Gordon Mitchell, Mark Forest, Mickey Hargitay, Brad Harris, Richard Harrison, Reg Lewis, and Peter Lupus also attended the ceremony honouring local bodybuilders who had made a significant contribution to the film business.
At the “Swords & Sandals” festival, which was held by the UCLA Cinema and Television Archive in July 2003, Hargitay, Mitchell, and Fury once more shared the stage.
