Today, representatives from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have made their way to the Parliament grounds.
Their goal is to cut off the legislative house’s electricity supply from the national grid because of unpaid debt totaling GH₵23 million.
For the past year, the business has been heavily pushing revenue mobilization. The officials were observed on the property and near a few important power transformers that provide the home with electricity.
If nothing intervenes, Parliament might not have the authority to meet today.
The residence is the most recent victim of the ECG cutting off the energy supply because of GHS480,000 in arrears. Earlier, Accra Academy Senior High School was left in complete darkness.
“The problem ECG finds itself in is consistent debt. And every month, our debt profile is different. So we have to be more aggressive because we have bills to pay.”
“We have issues so we have to be less compassionate, unfortunately,” she added on the Super Morning Show on February 20.
