The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has released it’s top twenty songs that dominated Ghana in 2017.

The list which is topped by “Sponsor” hit maker Ebony has names such as Shatta Wale, King Pormise and Patapaa.
However, no gospel music found it way onto the list that sums up Ghana’s favourite songs for 2017.
The Presient of the Union, Bice Osei Kuffour at a Press Soiree announcing the list said the union came up with the list in order to provide data for people who need data on the Ghana Music Industry.
He said “Data in the industry is missing. When KPMG did the comprehensive study it was very clear that it was very difficult finding data. Henceforth, MUSIGA has decided that every year we will compile the top 20 songs for the year – both gospel and secular”.
