In the midst of preparations for the 67th Independence Day parade at Koforidua jail Park, a jail guard named Lance Corporal Paul Badu reported feeling lightheaded. Badu ultimately passed away.
Koforidua is the planned site of this year’s national parade on March 6. In order to receive basic treatment, Lance Corporal Badu reportedly had to be taken to the jail clinic.
Unfortunately, he was moved to Koforidua’s Eastern Regional Hospital due to the seriousness of his condition.
According to hospital authorities, Lance Corporal Paul Badu experienced an aneurysm rupture that was most likely brought on by hypertension.
The 40-year-old officer left behind a wife and two small children after joining the Prisons Service in 2018. The entire jail population is in shock over Lance Corporal Badu’s death.
In order to make sure that officers’ health and wellbeing are given top priority, Koforidua Prison management has implemented methods to monitor the blood pressure of officers participating in rehearsals for the Independence Day parade.
