Earl Boen passed away on Thursday in Hawaii. He was a seasoned character and voice actor best remembered for playing Dr. Peter Silberman in “The Terminator” movies. He was 81.
In the fall of 2022, the actor received a stage four lung cancer diagnosis, according to a friend of Boen’s and his family.
Boen played Dr. Silberman, a criminal psychologist hired to question Michael Biehn’s Kyle Reese in “The Terminator,” “Terminator 2: Judgement Day,” and “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.” In “Terminator: Dark Fate” from 2019, he also made an appearance in archival footage.
Boen, who was born on August 4, 1941, has contributed to numerous films, television shows, and video games during the course of his career. His filmography also includes the “Terminator” series, “9 to 5,” “Living in Peril,” “The Prince,” “Sioux City,” “Marked for Death,” “My Stepmother Is an Alien,” “Alien Nation,” “Touch and Go,” “The Main Event,” “Battle Beyond the Stars,” “To Be or Not to Be,” “Movers & Shakers,” “Stewardess School,” and “Walk Like a Man.”

Kimmy Abaricia and Kimo Harbin, as well as his wife Cathy and stepdaughter Ruby, are his grandchildren who survived him. The family is yet to make a pronouncement about his funeral arrangements
