Earl Boen (August 8, 1941 – January 5, 2023) was an American actor best known for his roles as criminal psychologist Dr. Peter Silberman in The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), and Terminator: Dark Fate (2006). He is the only actor other than Arnold Schwarzenegger to have appeared in all three Terminator films. Boen was also active in the voice-over industry. Mr. Bleakman in Clifford the Big Red Dog, Police Chief Kanifky in Bonkers, the Narrator in World of Warcraft, Seor Senior, Senior in Kim Possible, and Captain LeChuck in the Monkey Island series were all characters he voiced.
Many TV viewers remember Boen as the Rev. Lloyd Meechum, the Harper family’s pastor on the 1980s sitcom Mama’s Family. His character appeared in several memorable episodes (on both the network and syndicated versions). He also appeared as a clergyman in episodes of The Golden Girls, The Golden Palace, The Wonder Years, Boy Meets World, Seinfeld, and Three’s Company. He also played Willie’s boss in ALF and Patrick Morrison in the Matlock episode “The Cult” in Matlock. Boen frequently portrays doctors in film and television. On Who’s The Boss?, he played Jim Petersen, Angela Bower’s boss. Earl had a recurring role as Dr. Kramer in the Fox series Get a Life in the 1990s. In 1993, Boen appeared (along with Tom Jones) in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Earl Boen’s wife and children
Boen married actress Carole Kean in 1970. She died on April 23, 2001, at the age of 58, from ovarian cancer.
