Ghana’s Occupy JulorBi House protest, organized by the Fix the Country movement, continues to draw attention as a host of prominent Ghanaian celebrities join in on its second day.
The protests, which commenced on Thursday, September 21st, coinciding with Kwame Nkrumah’s birthday, are set to persist until Saturday, making a powerful statement against the high cost of living and other pressing issues in the nation.
Despite a challenging first day that saw police intervention and clashes, the protest soldiers on, with a show of solidarity from various celebrities.
Among those lending their voices and presence to the cause are rapper E.L (Elorm Adablah), actress and activist Efia Odo, and popular comic actor SKDele. Rapper Kwaw Kese and Wanlov the Kubolor have also expressed their intent to participate.
However, some of Ghana’s biggest musical acts, including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Shatta Wale, have opted to support the cause from the sidelines, engaging with their fans and followers on social media.
