Dylan O’Brien was born in Manhattan and raised in Hermosa Beach, California. He started uploading original videos to his YouTube channel when he was 14 years old.
A local producer approached him during his senior year of high school about working on a web series. O’Brien met an actor who introduced him to a manager while working on the show. He abandoned his plans to study sports broadcasting at Syracuse University in order to pursue acting.
What caused Dylan O’Brien’s accident?
O’Brien was seriously injured on the set of Maze Runner: The Death Cure in March 2016.
He was wearing a harness on top of a moving vehicle when he was unexpectedly yanked off by another vehicle.
Later, he stated that the accident “‘broke most of the right side of my face.” He began filming other projects after months of recuperation.
He had to undergo a complete facial reconstruction surgery because the unfortunate accident mangled his face.
