The sudden demise of Dwayne Haskins hit the airwaves on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
The Pittsburg Steelers quarterback was struck by a dump truck when he was attempting to cross a highway in South Florida. He was 24.
Reports indicate that Haskins was in Southern Florida along with a few Pittsburgh Steelers teammates. They were preparing for the upcoming NFL season.
He was a college football player at Ohio State University where he threw 50 touchdowns in 2018.
He is part of seven quarterbacks to reach that record in a single NCAA season.
According to a report by Associated Press, Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Lt. Indiana Miranda confirmed Haskins was the individual who was hit by a dump truck this morning.
He was declared dead at the scene.
