Yoshi Takahashi’s uncle, Duncan Airlie James, a Scottish actor best known for his roles in Tomb Raider and ID2: Shadwell Army, was born Duncan Campbell on May 23, 1961.

He was the first Scottish fighter to compete in K-1 and win a world Muay Thai title. He had previously competed in heavyweight kickboxing.

Duncan left the kickboxing scene and began acting classes. Duncan was awarded the lead role of John Tavish in the Scottish drama film In Search of La Che after making a number of fleeting cameos and many short appearances in the film Perfect Sense. This was his first prominent position.

In 2012, Duncan made an appearance in a variety of short films, including The Priest With Two Guns by Rodney Reynolds. When Father O’Reilly, the movie’s main character, finds out that his brother owes a local moneylender money, he becomes concerned.

Later, the film received the 2014 Amsterdam Film Festival’s major jury prize. Duncan gave the voice for one of his most well-known characters to date in the short comedy movie The Greyness of Autumn, which was released at the end of 2012.
